Flores de Maria 2009
The Three
Kings Parish marked the end of theMarian month and the month-long exposition
of the crowned image of the Divina Pastora with a Flores de Maria
spearheaded by the Youth Ministry on May 30.
The afternoon
event began with a Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. William Villaviza, priest
in residence.
A grand
procession afterwards featured nine carrozas of images of the Virgin
Mary portraying her various attributes, and zagalas and devotees
from the various barangays and sitios comprising the parish.
The inclement
weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the participants as the procession
made the round of main city streets.
At the end
of the procession, the Divina Pastora was returned to Her shrine in the
rectory.
Don Emil
Ambrocio and Margerie Muyot acted as the hermano and hermana
for this year's affair.

The 5th
Marian Exhibit
In connection
with the 45th Canonical Coronation Anniversary of La Virgen Divina Pastora,
the fifth Marian Exhibit was held in the Parish Center from April 28 to
May 3 featuring 19 images of the Virgin Mary from church and private collections.

Fr. Bill marks 10th year of sacerdotal
ordination
Rev. Fr. William "Bill" S. Villaviza,
the Three Kings Parish "priest in residence", celebrated the tenth anniversary
of his sacerdotal ordination with an afternoon Mass concelebrated with
the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Onet Mangahas, last February 27.
The Villaviza family was not about
to miss the milestone in Fr. Bill's priestly life -- his father, Gelacio;
his eldest sister; another sister who's a nun, Sister Luchi, SFIC; and
other close relatives were present. Unfortunately, his mother, Marcelina,
was too weak to make the trip to Gapan City.
The Mass was followed by a thanksgiving
dinner at the parish center highlighted by tributes to Fr. Bill through
music and words from the Parish Pastoral Council and lay organizations.
The 2009 Three Kings Fiesta
Though the Catholic Church has
fixed the Feast of the Epiphany on the first Sunday of January after New
Year's Day, the occasion continues to be celebrated in Gapan City as Feast
of the Three Kings every January 6, just as has been done for the past
four centuries.
